A New Beginning

Dear readers

My name is Alastair, 23M, currently completing my studies at the National University of Singapore.

I started investing in Crypto (ethereum & bitcoin) back in 2017 when I was young, dumb and broke. I was satisfied with small gains and never did any further research into the space, thus lacking the conviction to hold long term.

Fast forward to 2021, I started to research and took the initiative to understand the inner workings of the blockchain, web3.0 and the metaverse and fell in love with the potential it had on our future. I started to read up on more protocols, understanding how they solve problems that exist in traditional centralized finance and the sort of scalability they would bring to the new digital age.

Being an avid gamer, I was most intrigued by the concept of Play-2-Earn (P2E) and the metaverse, leading me to create my first Axie Infinity Guild and now looking to expand into other P2E games. I believe that there is so much more potential that the metaverse can bring to our world, and I believe that we have yet to even scratch the surface of the entire concept.

I decided to create Medium to allow myself to pen down my thoughts on certain protocols/metaverse games that I have done my research on. I am in no way an expert and non of my posts constitutes as financial advice. DYOR! In fact, I am still very new to the entire space and would love to hear any of your opinions. Throughout my journey, I have met many great mentors in different fields of crypto (defi, nft etc.) and I am eternally grateful for them. Thus I hope that some of the thoughts on my Medium may find useful to some of you and will help you develop interest and knowledge in this space more.
